Genus Chrysotachina Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1889

CHRYSOTACHINA Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1889: 161 (also 1890: 93; also subsequently spelled Crysotachina, in error). Type species: Chrysotachina braueri Townsend, 1931, by fixation of O'Hara & Wood (2004: 286) under Article 70.3.2 of ICZN (1999), misidentified as Tachina reinwardtii Wiedemann, 1830 [spelled rheinwarti, in error], in the fixation by monotypy of Brauer & Bergenstamm (1889) [Neotropical].
EUGYMNOCHAETA Townsend, 1912d: 314. Type species: Gymnochaeta alcedo Loew, 1869, by original designation.
HELIOPLAGIA Townsend, 1934: 211. Type species: Helioplagia amazonica Townsend, 1934, by original designation [Neotropical].


alcedo (Loew, 1869).– Southern British Columbia to eastern Ontario and Massachusetts, south to southern Arizona and Florida, mostly in non-grassland habitats (O'Hara, 2002).
– Gymnochaeta alcedo Loew, 1869: 36. Type data: lectotype male (MCZ), by fixation of Townsend, 1939a: 227 (mention of "Ht male" is regarded as a lectotype fixation). Type locality: USA, Massachusetts.

– Chrysotachina longipennis O'Hara, 2002: 93. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: USA, Maryland, Calvert County, Scientists Cliffs.


slossonae (Coquillett, 1897).– Wisconsin to Nova Scotia south to Mississippi and Florida (O'Hara, 2002).
– Exoristoides slossonae Coquillett, 1897: 91. Type data: holotype female (USNM). Type locality: USA, New Hampshire, Franconia.
– Exorista spinipennis Coquillett, 1897: 95. Type data: holotype female (USNM). Type locality: USA, Georgia, Tifton.
