The University of Guelph will welcome two new deans to campus this fall and in early 2018.<\/p>\n

Mary Wells<\/h2>\n

Mary Wells<\/strong> begins a five-year term Nov. 1 as dean of the newly renamed College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.<\/p>\n

Wells is associate dean of outreach and a professor in mechanical and mechatronics engineering at the University of Waterloo. She chairs the Ontario Network of Women in Engineering, and is a sought-after expert and international speaker on women in engineering and science.<\/p>\n

Samantha Brennan<\/h2>\n

Samantha Brennan<\/strong> will become dean of the College of Arts for a five-year term beginning Jan. 1.<\/p>\n

Brennan is a professor of women\u2019s studies and feminist research at Western University. She served as chair of Western\u2019s Department of Philosophy for eight years and was a founding member of the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. She is a prolific blogger on feminist issues and an advocate for the public humanities.<\/p>\n
