The University of Guelph has recommenced its presidential search, naming a presidential selection committee and launching a community survey in support of the search process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In October 2019, the University had begun a search for its ninth president and vice-chancellor. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, in March 2020 the University\u2019s Board of Governors suspended that search and appointed Dr. Charlotte Yates to lead the University on an interim basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yates will complete her current term as president and vice-chancellor on Aug. 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Policy on University Appointments requires that a presidential search begin at least one year before the end of the incumbent president\u2019s term, and also provides that the incumbent may be a candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
