This course analyzes criminal justice policy and governance of the criminal justice system from applied and theoretical perspectives. Particular attention is paid to the interplay between criminal justice policy and management and the larger political process.

This course introduces students to the primary methods, data sources and statistical methods used in criminal justice and criminology research. Particular attention will be paid to the role research an methods and statistics play in shaping criminal justice/criminological theory, research and policy.
