Students will explore alternative approaches to development research and analysis across documentary, qualitative and quantitative
methods and the ethical issues associated with research in a development context. The course involves guided readings and
seminar based discussions related to development research. There will be emphasis on written and oral communication of development
research and analysis to diverse audiences. The course will be taught over a two-week period at the start of the summer semester,
Subsequently, students will reflect on their own positionality and the development context of their research of practicum
through the remainder of the Summer semester and while engaged in this activity.
