Library Services

The library services for University of Guelph-Humber students and faculty are provided in collaboration with the University of Guelph Library and Humber College Libraries. Students receive one-on-one individualized research assistance from library staff in the Writing Centre, which is conveniently located in the Guelph-Humber building. The Guelph-Humber book collection is located at the Humber North Campus Library and is complemented by access to the collections in the TriUniversity Group of Libraries (TUG - University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University.) Guelph-Humber students can request books and documents from TUG partner libraries, which will be delivered by next-day service to the Humber North campus Library. Presentation of the non-transferable Student ID Card is required each time a book is borrowed from the Library. This card also provides University of Guelph-Humber users borrowing privileges at other Ontario university libraries. In addition to print collections, students have access to a growing number of electronic books, which are easily accessible online at the point-of-need. Library staff is available to offer help in the use of a wide range of print and electronic information resources. This takes place on-campus as well as remotely through chat reference. The library also provides peer assistance with research from student leaders working as Research Support Peers. Orientation tours and classroom presentations in the use of the Library are available. Photocopying machines and printers are located in the Learning Commons and Humber Library. Both individual and group study facilities are available at the Learning Commons in the Guelph-Humber building as well as in the main Humber library. Other Learning Commons services include the Math Centre, Computer Support Assistants and Learning Support Peers.
