* Selection of electives is subject to the following rules:

1. At least 1.00 credits in the program must be in the Arts and Social Sciences.

2. It is recommended that the student choose an Area of Focus consisting of 2.50 credits which may be in subjects such as Biomedical Sciences, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computing and Information Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Plant Science or Toxicology. Lists of approved courses for each area of focus are available from the departmental advisor.

3. Students who lack a background in computer science are recommended to select CIS*1650 as one of their electives by the end of the second year.

***students are reminded that MICR*2020 is the prerequisite for MBG*3080 and is not part of the Biochemistry program. Therefore, students who intend to take MBG*3080 should arrange to take MICR*2020 in an earlier semester.
