AICF McRorie Scholarships in Agriculture
Established by the Agricultural Institute of Canada in memory of a former president, Douglas McRorie, P.Ag., FAIC, Vice-President (Agricultural Services) of the Royal Bank of Canada. Students may be awarded a McRorie Scholarship on one occasion only. Each of the two rFB.ecipients in a given year must be pursuing different majors within O.A.C. Qualification(s): Students in B.Sc.(Agr.) or B.Comm., Agricultural Business major, who have completed semesters 4, 5 or 6 and have a minimum 70% cumulative average may apply. Students must have completed at least one course in the field of economics or financial management.

Ann E. Barber Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is offered in memory of Ann E. Barber, former superintendent of Macdonald Hall and Dean of Women, by the Mac-FACS Alumni Association. Apply to Student Financial Services by April 1. [I0023]
Qualification(s): Student entering semesters 3, 4 or 5 in the B.A.Sc.. program or the Marketing Management or Housing and Real Estate Management major of the B.Comm. program with a minimum 80% average in the semester just completed. The student must have made a worthwhile contribution to student activities in residence or on- campus.
Amount: One award of $300
George D. Bedell Prize
The HTM Student's Council presents a plaque to a graduating student of the School in honour of George D. Bedell, the first director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Recipient selected in the Winter semester by the HTM Awards Committee which will conduct an election with the graduating class. Application not required. [C0352]
Qualification(s): Student graduating from the B.Comm. program, in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who, in the minds of his or her fellow students, has demonstrated the outstanding leadership, versatility of interests and involvement in community affairs, both within and outside the School, that exemplifies the sense of professionalism to which the fourth year students have dedicated themselves.

Blackburn Scholarship
In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Ontario Agricultural College, Dr. D.J. Blackburn, a retired faculty member in Rural Extension Studies and former Director of the Associate Diploma Program has established this scholarship. Apply by letter citing athletic contributions to the O.A.C. Awards Committee by April 1. [I0404]
Qualification(s): O.A.C. degree or diploma student who has participated in intercollegiate athletics and maintained a minimum cumulative average of 70% while registered at Guelph. Athletic excellence and leadership will be used to determine the recipient.
Amount: One award of $500
Dorothy Britton Memorial Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded from funds donated from the estate of Dorothy Britton (MAC'39). Awarded on the basis of high academic achievement. Application not required. [I0015]
Qualification(s): Students entering semesters 4 or 5 in the B.A.Sc. program or the Hotel and Food Administration, Housing and Real Estate Management, Marketing Management or Tourism Management majors of the B.Comm. program are eligible.

Bill Brohman Memorial Scholarship
The partners of Robinson Lott & Brohman LLP provide a scholarship in memory of Bill Brohman, a founding partner of the firm who served on the University of Guelph Board of Governors from 1986-1992. The award winner will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement in the three accounting courses (or their equivalents), involvement in extracurricular activities, and a demonstrated interest in a career in accountancy. Apply to the Associate Dean, Faculty of Management by April 1, including a statement of up to two pages in length outlining your extracurricular involvement and interest in pursuing a career in accountancy.
Qualification(s): Students enrolled in any of the majors of the B.Comm. program who have completed 12.5 to 15.0 credits, including AGEC*2220, Financial Accounting, AGEC*3330, Intermediate Accounting, and one of AGEC*2230, Management Accounting or HTM*3070 , Hospitality and Tourism Management Accounting, or their equivalents. Involvement in extracurricular activities, and demonstrated interest in a career in accountancy.

John J. Campbell Memorial Scholarship
Provided by the Food Service Purchasing Association of Canada (FPAC) in memory of John J. Campbell, former President of the Association. Apply by letter describing your interest in food service management, along with a Need Assessment Form (available from Student Financial Services), to Student Financial Services by January 31. Qualification(s): Students in the B.Comm. program in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, with demonstrated financial need, who have completed at least 8 credits but no more than 12.50 credits at the time of application, and have at least a 70% average in the last two full-time equivalent semesters. Preference will be given to students with an interest in foodservice management. Students must be registered full-time in the semester they receive the award.

Canadian Agri-Marketing Association (Ontario) Scholarship
Provided by the Canadian Association of Agri-Marketing Association (Ontario). Apply to the OAC awards Committee by April 1 with a summary of participation in the Ag Ec & Biz Society and in agri-marketing initiatives as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. [I0541]
Qualification(s): Student who has competed a minimum of 10.0 credits with a minimum cumulative average of 70% who are members of OAC and the Ag Ec & Biz Society. Selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in agri-marketing.

Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers Scholarship
Provided by the Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers. Apply to Student Financial Services by April 1.
Qualification(s): Student who has competed semesters 4, 5, or 6 in B.Sc.(Agr.) or B.Comm., Agricultural Business major, with a minimum 70% average in the previous 2 semesters of full-time equivalent study, participated in extracurricular activities, and has an interest in the input supply industry in agriculture. J. Ross Cavers International Exchange Scholarship
O.A.C.'53 provides this scholarship in memory of J. Ross Cavers, their honorary year member and Professor Emeritus. Apply to Student Financial Services, by April 1. [T0051]
Qualification(s): Undergraduate student in O.A.C. with travel and/or housing costs associated with a semester or more of academic study or cooperative work experience through a recognized university outside Canada. Students must have completed 7.50 credits and have satisfactory academic standing in their undergraduate course work. Preference will be given to a candidate who has exhibited qualities of leadership.

Class of 1905 Scholarship

Qualification(s): Student who has completed the 6th semester level in a major in an O.A.C. department and is considered to be the most outstanding student in the class and who, through activity in all branches of college life, as well as proficiency in scholarship during the program, has done most for the college, for fellow students and for personal development.

C.S.A.H.S. Student Volunteer Scholarship
Inspired by Theresa Firestone, FACS '78, and funded by the Harshman Fellowships Society and Pfizer Canada Inc.. Students may apply on their own or be recommended by other students, faculty members or administrators from non-profit organisations. Applications are available from the C.S.A.H.S. Dean's Office. Apply to the C.S.A.H.S. Dean's Office with a completed application form, a summary letter outlining the student's volunteer experience and what has been gained or learned from this experience that has enhanced his/her personal growth and/or career goals, and 2 letters of recommendation by April 1.
Qualification(s): This scholarship will be awarded to the Student Volunteer of the year to help defray the costs associated with volunteerism.
Amount: One award of $350 (an equal amount will be awarded to the charitable organisation of the recipients choice).
John Deere Foundation of Canada Scholarship
Established through the generosity of The John Deere Foundation of Canada to recognize academic excellence. Application not required. [I0516]
Qualification(s): Student registered in the B.Sc.(Agr.), B.Sc.(Agr.) Agricultural Economics, B.Sc.(Agr.) Agronomy, B.A. Agricultural Economics, or B.Comm. Agricultural Business program who has completed a minimum of 15.0 credits. Selection will be based on the student with the highest cumulative average. A student may be receive this award once only.
Amount: One award of $2,000
Joan Doherty Memorial Graduate Scholarship
A scholarship has been established in memory of Joan Doherty, Class of '78, by her family. An application, accompanied by a one-page written statement indicating the student's purpose, goals and objectives in pursuing graduate study, must be submitted to theMarketing & Consumer Studies Awards Committee Awards Committee by February 1. Qualification(s): Member of the graduating class in Marketing & Consumer Studies who will be continuing his or her education at the Master's or Doctoral degree level in a Canadian university. The scholarship recipient will be determined on the basis of academic promise as evidenced by undergraduate academic achievement. Should equally qualified students make application for the scholarship, preference will be given to previous winners of the Joan Doherty Memorial Scholarship.

Joan Doherty Travel Scholarship
Established in memory of the late Joan Doherty (a member of the class of FACS '78) to assist students to attend a conference related to their studies. Apply to the Chair of the Department of Marketing & Consumer Studies by March 1 including a budget and a description of the travel. [T0401]
Qualification(s): Undergraduate or graduate student in Consumer Studies with a minimum cumulative average of 70%. The recipient will be selected based upon the cost of attending the conference and the benefit it will bring to the student's program of study.

Katherine Fuller Scholarship
Established by Macdonald Institute Alumni in 1931 to honour Mrs. Katherine Fuller, the Superintendent of Macdonald Hall from 1904 until her retirement in 1931, and offered by the Mac-FACS Alumni Association. Application not required. [I0107]
Qualification(s): Full-time student in the B.A.Sc. program or the Marketing Management or Housing and Real Estate Management major of the B.Comm. program, who has completed between 5.0 and 10.0 course credits and has demonstrated a high level of academic achievement.

HAFA Alumni Association Life Membership Prize
Established by the School's Alumni Association in recognition of student involvement in the life of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Managament and/or the University Apply by January 31 using the standard application form attaching a résumé and detailed list of extracurricular activities to the HTM Awards Committee. Qualification(s): Awarded to a graduating B.Comm. student , in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who has at least a 70% average. Selection will be based on extracurricular activities.
Amount: One life membership in the HAFA Alumni Association
HAFA Alumni Association Scholarships
Established by the School's Alumni Association in recognition of student involvement in the life of School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and/or the University. Apply by January 31 using the standard application to the HTM Awards Committee. [I0501]
Qualification(s): Awarded to students registered in the B.Comm. program, in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Managament. One scholarship will be awarded to a student who has completed at least 7.00 credits (but no more than 10.50 credits) and the second award will be given to a student who has completed at least 11.00 credits (but no more than 14.50 credits). Applicants must have at least a 70% average in the last two full-time equivalent semesters. The recipient must have participated in extracurricular activities at the University of Guelph.

Heimbecker Award in Entrepreneurship
The Heimbecker Award in Entrepreneurship has been established by the friends and associates of Herb Heimbecker, on his retirement as a Director of Goderich Elevators, to honour his contributions to the agrifood industry in Canada. Students should apply to Student Financial Services by April 1, including a résumé and a letter highlighting their entrepreneurial skills and their aptitude and interest in business. [I0388]
Qualification(s): O.A.C. student in B.Sc.(Agr.) or B.Comm., Agribusiness major, who have completed semester 6 are eligible. Students must have a minimum of a B standing (73%-76%) in their previous full-time year or equivalent [5.00] credits, have demonstrated entrepreneurial skills and display an aptitude and an interest in business.

Hotel Human Resource Professionals Association of Greater Metropolitan Toronto Award
Apply by January 31 to the HTM Awards Committee using the in-course application form including a résumé and a report on the work experience or project. [I0445]
Qualification(s): Student in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who has at least a combined B+ average in the courses Organizational Design and Effectiveness (HTM*2200) and Human Resource Management (HTM*3000). As well, the student must have either work experience in the human resource area, or have worked in the hospitality and tourism industry (and have successfully completed a human resource-related project either on the job or in the relevant course work).

Dr. John E. Kean Scholarship
Established by the Canadian Standards Association as a gift on the occasion of Dr. Kean's retirement as President and CEO of the Canadian Standards Association (now CSA International). Dr. Kean received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Guelph in 1997. Apply with a written statement of up to 2 pages, highlighting interest in business management, consumer interests, and/or environmental management systems as well as leadership potential and a completed in-course scholarship application form by April 1 to the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies. Kathleen and R. Douglas Kennedy Scholarship in CSAHS
Kathleen (MAC '39) and Douglas (OAC '39) Kennedy met at a "hop" on campus in 1937 and later married. They established this scholarship to celebrate their time on campus and their 62 years of marriage. Apply to Student Financial Services by October 7 with a completed Need Assessment Form. [I0546]
Qualification(s): This scholarship will be awarded to a student in CSAHS with high academic achievement. Preference will be given to students registered in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, or the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies and to students with demonstrated financial need.

R. Douglas and Kathleen Kennedy Scholarship in OAC

Leo Lecours Memorial Award
Provided by Lecours, Wolfson, a Canadian hospitality management and chef recruitment firm provides this scholarship in memory of Leo Lecours.. Apply to the HTM Awards Committee by January 31, using the HTM Awards Application form. Include a 500-word statement on career goals and objectives. The faculty of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management will also be invited to nominate deserving students and to provide information on the nominees. Qualification(s): Student in the B.Comm. program, in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who has the greatest potential contribution to the School and/or the hospitality industry. Shirley Louie Memorial Scholarship
Offered by the Canadian College and University Food Services Association (CCUFSA) to honour Shirley Louie, a long-time member. James MacMillan Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of James MacMillan, his great uncle, by Austin Conway of Toronto. Apply with a completed Need Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7. [I0494]
Qualification(s): Kemptville College graduate with high academic standing (a minimum 75% cumulative average) who registers in the O.A.C. degree program in Agriculture or in Agriculture and Business. Financial need may also be considered.

G.H. Mann Food Service Scholarship
Preference will be given to a student who has contributed to the on going success of the Hospitality Services Department of the University. Apply to the HTM Awards Committee by January 31. [I0174]
Qualification(s): Student who is registered in semester 8 of the B.Comm. program, in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and has a minimum cumulative average of 70%. In addition, the recipient will have an interest in, and have participated in, activities conducive to a career in the foodservice industry.

Massey Fund Travel Scholarships
Travel scholarships available from the Massey Fund. Not tenable with other awards that support travel costs. Apply by letter outlining the study abroad/exchange program and travel costs to the O.A.C. Dean's Office by April 15. [T0417]
Qualification(s): O.A.C. undergraduate students who are participating in an approved study abroad or exchange program outside Canada. Academic standing in the last two full-time semesters or equivalent will be used to determine recipients.

Louise McConkey Travel Scholarship
Established in memory of the late Louise McConkey, Mac '27 to defray travel costs related to the student's course of study. Selection will be made on the basis of the value of the travel to the students' studies. Dawn Morris Memorial Award
Offered in memory of Dawn Morris, who spent 35 years in farm show business and was former Manager of the Canadian International Farm Equipment Show in Toronto. Students are encouraged to submit information on extracurricular activities to Student Financial Services, by April 1. [I0361]
Qualification(s): Student who is graduating from the Agricultural Business major of the B.Comm. degree or the Agricultural Economics major in the B.Sc.(Agr.) degree with a minimum 'B+' average. Recipients will have made an outstanding contribution to College life through academic proficiency and participation in extracurricular activities and can be considered to have done the most for the College, for fellow students and in their personal development. Recipients must have a 70% minimum cumulative average.

O.A.C. Alumni Foundation Leadership Awards - First Year
Established by the O.A.C. Alumni Foundation. Apply to Student Financial Services by April 1. [I0471]
Qualification(s): O.A.C. degree students (agricultural science, environmental science, agricultural business, landscape architecture, science) who have completed two full-time semesters or equivalent with a cumulative average of at least 70%. Students should include with their application a statement of their accomplishments during their first two semesters in the area of personal development and list their leadership development activities.

O.A.C. Centennial Graduate Fellowships
The Ontario Agricultural College celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 1974. Many organizations and companies associated with the agricultural industry provided funds in conjunction with the Centennial activities. Funds have been established in perpetuity as a permanent commemoration of the Centennial of the College. Apply to Student Financial Services by April 1. [C0209]
Qualification(s): Students graduating from a degree program administered by the Ontario Agricultural College and who plan to pursue graduate studies in any department or school of the Ontario Agricultural College in the year of baccalaureate graduation are eligible for these fellowships. The fellowship will be based on academic achievement in semesters 7 and 8, as well as participation in extracurricular activities throughout the student's university career.

Ontario Agricultural Co-operatives Scholarships
These annual scholarships are provided by Ontario Agricultural Co-operatives. The award may be held once only. Apply to Student Financial Services by April 1. [I0289]
Qualification(s): Students who have completed semester 4 or 6 of the B.Sc.(Agr.) degree or B.Comm. degree with a major in Agricultural Business, or semester 2 of the Diploma in Agriculture program. One scholarship will be awarded in the diploma program and two in the degree programs, one at the conclusion of Semester 4, one at the conclusion of semester 6. Students must have at least a cumulative average of 70% and have demonstrated leadership and involvement in one or more of extracurricular activities, community service, or agricultural employment.

Ontario Women's Institute Scholarships
Offered by the Federated Women's Institute of Ontario. Apply by letter to Dean's Office, CSAHS Awards Committee, by April 1. [I0160]
Qualification(s): Students from Ontario with a minimum cumulative average of 70% who have completed 4.00 to 6.00 course credits in either the B.A.Sc. program or the Marketing Management or Housing and Real Estate Management major in the B.Comm program or any of the majors of the B.Comm. offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and who have contributed to extracurricular activities. If other qualifications are equal, preference will be given to students who have participated in the Ontario 4-H program and/or students whose mothers are Women's Institute members.

Oxford County Pork Producers Scholarship (Degree)
The Oxford County Pork Producers have made available a scholarship. Apply to OAC Awards Committee by April 1 with a letter of up to two pages in length including information about leadership, community involvement and pork industry involvement. [I0531]
Qualification(s): Any student who has completed a minimum of 5.0 credits in an OAC degree program with a minimum cumulative average of 70%, pork production background or interest in pork production/industry, and demonstrated leadership and/or community involvement. Preference will be given to students from Oxford County or surrounding area.

Beth Park Memorial Scholarship
The family and friends of Beth Park (FACS '79) have established a scholarship to foster talent in the area of product development and/or quality management. Apply to the Department of Marketing & Consumer Studies Awards Committee by April 1, including a résumé and a 500-word statement documenting interest and experience in product development and/or quality management. Purchasing Management Scholarship

Qualification(s): Student in the B.Comm. program in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who obtains the highest grade in HTM*2000 Hospitality Purchasing Management. Qualification(s): Student who has demonstrated an interest in the foodservice industry, has maintained a minimum of 'B' average and has completed 7.50 to 10.00 credits of a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of interest in foodservice operations and academic standing. Interest in the foodservice industry can be demonstrated by work experience or active membership in the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals ( CAFP, formerly CFSEA).

Elizabeth M. (Betty) Upton Memorial Travel Grant
Established in memory of Elizabeth M. Upton, a faculty member in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who played a key role in the development of the School and was instrumental in the development of the Institutional Foodservice Management major. Qualification(s): Student who demonstrates the greatest financial need for travel to a recognized University of Guelph study abroad, exchange or letter of permission activity outside Canada, or to attend a relevant professional conference, or to collect research date for a thesis or major paper. Students must have completed two or more semesters a graduate or undergraduate program offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and must be in good academic standing. The project or conference must occur within 12 months.
