Ann E. Barber Memorial Scholarship [I0023]
Established in 1963 in memory of Ann E. Barber, former superintendent of Macdonald Hall from 1931 to 1942 and Dean of Women from 1946 until her retirement in 1956, by the Mac-FACS Alumni Association. Apply to the CSAHS Undergraduate Awards Committee with a one-page description of contributions to student activities by April 1.

Beth Park Memorial Scholarship [I0420]
The family and friends of Beth Park (FACS '79) have established a scholarship to foster talent in the Canadian fashion and textile industries. Apply by letter to the Department of Marketing & Consumer Studies Undergraduate Awards Committee by April 1. Include a résumé, a letter of reference and a 500-word statement documenting interest and experience in fashion or textile industries (retailing, marketing, merchandising, design). One award of $2,500 or two awards of $1,250.

Bill Brohman Memorial Scholarship [I0533]
The partners of Robinson Lott & Brohman LLP provide a $1500 annual scholarship in memory of Bill Brohman, a founding partner of the firm who served on the University of Guelph Board of Governors from 1986-1992. The award winner will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement in the three accounting courses (or their equivalents), involvement in extracurricular activities, and a demonstrated interest in a career in accountancy. In addition, if any of the three courses required were completed at another institution, applicants must submit officially-certified grades along with their two-page statements. Apply to the Associate Dean, Faculty of Management by April 1st, including a statement of up to two pages in length outlining your extracurricular involvement and interest in pursuing a career in accountancy.

In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Ontario Agricultural College, Dr. D.J. Blackburn, a retired faculty member in Rural Extension Studies and former Director of the Associate Diploma Program has established this scholarship. City of Guelph 175th Anniversary Awards [I0515]
Provided by the Guelph Community Foundation, in celebration of the 175th anniversary of the City of Guelph in 2002, as an investment for future generations. Apply to Student Financial Services, by October 7 of the second year of study, with a letter describing Guelph community and University community volunteer activities and extracurricular activities, a completed Need Assessment Form, and two reference letters not to exceed two pages in length from individuals familiar with the volunteer and/or community service contributions. Award may be held only once.

Established by the Silver Anniversary celebrants to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the University Class of 1970. This award rotates among all six colleges on the main campus. The appropriate College Award Committee selects the candidate each Fall semester and the candidate is announced each October. Application not required.

CSAHS Student Volunteer Scholarship [I0482]
Inspired by Theresa Firestone, FACS '78, and funded by the Harshman Fellowships Society and Pfizer Canada Inc.. Students may apply on their own or be recommended by other students, faculty members or administrators from non-profit organizations. Applications are available from the CSAHS Dean's Office. Apply to the CSAHS Dean's Office with a completed application form, a summary letter outlining the student's volunteer experience and what has been gained or learned from this experience that has enhanced his/her personal growth and/or career goals, and 2 letters of recommendation by April 1. This scholarship will be awarded to the Student Volunteer of the year to help defray the costs associated with volunteerism.One award of $350 (an equal amount will be awarded to the charitable organisation of the recipients choice).

Established by the Canadian Standards Association as a gift on the occasion of Dr. Kean's retirement as President and CEO of the Canadian Standards Association (now CSA International). The winner will be chosen on the basis of three criteria; 1) industry work experience; 2) academic achievment; and 3) extracurricular involvement. Qualification(s): Undergraduate degree or diploma students who are members of varsity teams and in the second, third, fourth or fifth year of full-time study with a minimum 70% average in all courses completed in the previous year of study and have demonstrated leadership. Selection will include equally weighted consideration of academic performance, leadership and financial need. Preference will be given to members of the varsity football team. Examples of leadership may include academic tutoring, mentoring team mates, assisting in the organization and promotion of varsity and/or intramural athletics, participation on university committees, such as in residences, on Senate or in Colleges, and similar off-campus activities. George D. Bedell Prize [C0352]
The HTM Student's Council presents a plaque to a graduating student of the School in honour of George D. Bedell, the first director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Recipient selected in the Winter semester by the HTM Awards Committee which will conduct an election with the graduating class. Application not required.

Gonder Family Centre for Students with Disabilities Volunteer Award [I0563]
In recognition of the many students who volunteer their time and talents to assist their colleagues registered with the Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD) and to encourage others to do so, Dr. John and Mrs. Katherine Gonder provide this award to a student who has volunteered in the CSD. The award will be made on the basis of the volunteer activities undertaken by the student at the CSD, one letter of reference, and a personal statement that outlines the time commitment and types of volunteer activities undertaken as well as an indication of how this was a valuable and rewarding volunteer experience. The recipient will receive this award after graduation. One life membership in the HAFA Alumni Association.

Heimbecker Award in Entrepreneurship [I0388]
The Heimbecker Award in Entrepreneurship has been established by the friends and associates of Herb Heimbecker, on his retirement as a Director of Goderich Elevators, to honour his contributions to the agrifood industry in Canada. Students should apply to Student Financial Services by April 1, including a résumé and a letter highlighting their entrepreneurial skills and their aptitude and interest in business.
