The Co-op program in Accounting is designed to facilitate the transition of students from academic studies to a professional
career by enhancing the integration of theory and practice.
The Co-op in Accounting is a five year program including 4 work terms. Students must follow the academic work schedule as
outlined on the Co-operative Education and Career Services website: https://www.recruitguelph.ca/cecs/.
In order for students to be eligible to continue in the Co-op program, they must meet a minimum 70% cumulative average requirement
after second semester, as well as meet all work term requirements. Please refer to the Co-operative Education program policy
with respect to work term performance grading and work term report grading. For additional program information students should
consult with their Co-op Co-ordinator and Co-op Faculty Advisor, listed on the Co-operative Education and Career Services

For this major, 13.50 of the 20.00 credits are specified as core requirements and 6.50 electives (including the Liberal Education
Requirements of 1.50 credits.) Students pursuing a professional accounting designation should visit the Department of Management
website for links to the requirements for each designation.
Group/Team work is a significant part of core credit work.

As part of the graduation requirement all students within the B.Comm. Program are required to complete 1.50 credits from at
least two different subject prefixes as listed under the B.Comm. Program Information section of the undergraduate calendar.
