About SIS Refresh
The University of Guelph has been using Ellucian Colleague as its core Student Information System (SIS) since the late 1990s, with WebAdvisor as the student interface. While the system has served the University well, we’ve been actively working on leveraging new features, functionalities, and technologies to modernize our SIS and enhance its impact on students, staff, advisors, and everyone who relies on it.
The SIS Refresh initiative, approved by the Information Technology Governance Committee (ITGC), is well underway and making significant progress toward advancing institutional goals around strategic enrolment management and the student experience. Our team has already been working on and implementing several improvements, including, but not limited to:
- New tools that empower students to plan their academic journeys, stay motivated, and stay on track for graduation.
- Enhanced capabilities for admissions staff to better engage with prospective students and guide them through the application process.
- Improved systems to streamline the awarding of scholarships and financial support to students.
- More efficient processes for admissions and enrolment.
- A modernized curriculum management system.
- Better ways of providing services to students.
The SIS Refresh is transforming the digital experience at the University of Guelph, benefiting students and the teams that support them. With these updates, we’re refreshing our technology and reshaping the way we serve our community.
