Through continuous efforts and perseverance, the new Student Planning tool was successfully implemented this past summer.
Following the soft launch on June 15, students could immediately begin taking advantage of the degree/diploma planning functionality. When Fall 2021 course offerings for the Guelph campus were posted on June 22, students could build their semester timetables. Since the initial launch, over 12,000 students have used the degree/diploma planning tool to map out their courses for future semesters.
We have created six tutorial videos with an average of 4,030 views per video and help resources (e.g., FAQs), which continue to grow. Additionally, in collaboration with the IT Help Centre, the SIS Refresh team is providing essential support resources for students, staff and faculty.
Finally, the new Advising tool is now available for staff and faculty who advise students. This tool allows staff and faculty to view a student’s academic profile through the same Student Planning screens that the student uses, including their “My Progress” and “Timeline” screens.
