CIBC has established these scholarships to create more opportunities for Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), and persons of colour/racialized students and to help identify and address systemic barriers to full and equal participation in higher education. Apply by April 15 by submitting the CIBC Business Leader Scholarship application. Selection will be based on 1. Students’ understanding of LANG’s mission, Business as a force for good® 2. How the students’ experiences align with LANG’s mission 3. Academic achievement (grades will be the lowest weight compared to 1 and 2). Renewable for up to 3 years provided recipients remain registered in full-time studies and achieve a minimum 70.0% average in their previous academic year of full-time study. Students who fail to qualify for a renewal payment may re-qualify by subsequently obtaining a 70.0% or better average in the previous academic year. Annual payments lost cannot be added to the end of the award period. Recipients will receive an invitation to join the U of G peer mentorship program provided through the Cultural Diversity Office in their first year of studies. Recipients will also receive an invitation to apply for CIBC Summer Internships and, if selected, will be guided by CIBC employees through the program.

Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), or persons of colour/racialized students entering any program offered by the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics with a minimum 80.0% admission average who demonstrate an understanding of LANG’s mission, Business as a force for good® and who have experiences participating in activities that have been a force for good.
