Dr. Martha Billes, O.C. is the University’s ninth Chancellor and the first alumna to serve in this role. She has been a strong supporter of the MCL since its inception and has established several awards to support students in the program to empower future conservation leaders who will make a meaningful impact in the field. Apply by March 1 to the Masters of Conservation Leadership Advisory Committee at mconslead@uoguelph.ca with a maximum 1-page letter outlining the focus of your research. Selection will be based on academic excellence and the relevance of the student’s research to biodiversity or environmental conservation.

Students entering any full-time PhD program in the winter, summer or fall semester whose research focus is on biodiversity or environmental conservation. (Students will be in semesters 1, 2, or 3 at the time the award will be distributed). Preference will be given in the following order 1) students whose research is relative to social, cultural, political dimensions of conservation, 2) students entering any program offered by the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences.
