An OUA initiative and supported by the University of Guelph, the BIHS Bursary was established to alleviate some of the financial burden that Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), or persons of colour/racialized student-athletes experience while participating in university sports. Apply by October 7th to Student Financial Services with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form (N.A.F.) and submit the BIHS Bursary application. Selection will be based on financial need. Any combination of an OUA AFA and BIHS Bursary cannot exceed the student-athletes’ total tuition and fees for that academic year.

Varsity student-athletes listed on their team’s eligibility certificate registered in any degree program who: are Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), or persons of colour/racialized person; achieved a minimum 65%, or the equivalent cumulative average, on all registered course work within the last academic year, and demonstrate financial need.
