The CBS Graduate Student Best Paper Prize recognizes exceptional peer-reviewed articles accepted or published by graduate students during the preceding calendar year. Students are nominated by their primary advisor. Faculty nominators submit a copy of the published paper (or pre-print, along with notification of acceptance) and a cover letter addressing originality/impact/ significance of the paper to the discipline and an explanation of the role of the student in producing the research. Advisors submit nominations by April 1 to the Associate Dean of Research Office. Selection will be based on the originality/impact/significance of the paper to the discipline and the role of the student in producing the research. Where two eligible students are co-first authors, they may be jointly nominated. Students can hold the award only once. One award is available for each CBS department: Integrative Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Human Health and Nutritional Science.
Students from the College of Biological Sciences who conducted research and who have produced a first-author or co-first author original research paper that was published (or accepted) into a peer-reviewed journal in the previous year.
