Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance

Description

The priority-driven Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance Research Program supports leading research aligned to support strong rural communities, keep our food safe, and develop a prosperous, environmentally sustainable agri-food sector in Ontario. The Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance requests Full Proposals (FPs) that address OMAFRA’s Special Initiative priorities. Special Initiatives are part of the Ontario Agri-food Innovation Alliance Research Program and respond to specific research priorities set by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). These research needs are important for the Ministry and its stakeholders, and include, but are not limited to, breeding research, medium-term trials, synthesis, and modelling.

Each Special Initiative project has a clear description and outcomes which researchers must address in their Full Proposals. Unlike Tier I, they also have a designated budget amount and duration, which have been approved by the Ministry. For further information about the Special Initiative projects or how to apply, please visit the Alliance website and the 2020/21 Special Initiatives Program Guide (PDF, 720 KB).

NOTE: This will be a single-stage call. Full Proposals are due by Noon on May 1, 2020.
