MITACS RISE-Globalink Research Internship

Description

Mitacs and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) have partnered to offer the RISE-Globalink Research Internship (RISE-GRI), which offers undergraduate students at Canadian universities the opportunity to undertake research at eligible German institutions.

The RISE-Globalink Research Internship is a competitive initiative that offers undergraduate students at Canadian universities in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, earth science, and physics the opportunity to participate in a research project supervised by a doctoral student at a German university or institution.

Eligibility

The program is open to full-time undergraduates in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Earth Sciences, or Engineering (or a closely related field) who have completed at least two years of a four- or five-year program. This is a competitive opportunity - only top-ranked students are matched with projects.

Maximum Project Value

Approved recipients receive $6,000 toward travel and accommodations 

Project Duration

Projects must start between May 15 and July 9, 2019. Projects will be 12 weeks in duration (minimum 10 weeks).

 Students must apply directly through the RISE application portal. The call for applications opened on November 1, 2018, and closes on December 15, 2018. 

How to Apply

Eligible students need to review the list of available projects in their discipline on the RISE Germany internship database. Students will then submit RISE-Globalink Research Internship applications through the RISE Germany application portal.
