Grants and Awards Opportunities for Indian Canadian Scholars
Description
The Institute has a unique mandate as it operates broadly in two major directions. Firstly, as a financial support system for academic and research programmes in terms of different fellowships. Secondly, as a bi-national network of leading academic institutions, as knowledge partners in generating linkages and collaborations that transcend the traditional system of cooperation.
The call for proposals are intended for joint (applied) virtual research and provide solutions to deal with both the immediate and long-term effects of the global crisis in terms of building new devices, creating new knowledge, development of vaccines, new methods of treatment and diagnosis, and ways of dealing with the socio-economic and psychosocial consequences of the outbreak of COVID-19.

Special Notes
Please refer to the Office of Research COVID-19 web-page for directives related to research activities at the University of Guelph.
SICI strongly advises all potential applicants that it is their responsibility to find the right partner in another country. In order to find potential matching partners/faculty members in Canadian/Indian member universities, the applicants are strongly advised to visit the websites of preferred Canadian/Indian universities to contact ONLY the appropriate faculty members of desired schools/departments and write to them directly expressing the necessary background of your proposal and partnership interests. We strongly advise all potential applicants to refrain from sending generic e-mail request to SICI officers or its executive council members or mass e-mailing many other recipients seeking their help to find you a partner, because it could be counterproductive and may hamper their efforts in finding a correct partner. Applicants are also advised to approach potential partners well in time so that they can submit a well-prepared application after consultation with their partner.
