Description

SOSCIP (formerly Southern Ontario Smart Computing for Innovation Platform) is a collaborative consortium that connects Ontario’s research-intensive post-secondary institutions, IBM Canada Ltd., Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and dozens of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the province.

SOSCIP supports researchers from a wide array of disciplines by providing access to advanced computing resources, big data analytics, and expertise not available anywhere else in Canada. (https://www.soscip.org/who-we-are/) The organization recently received a $10-million investment from FedDev Ontario that will support a number of initiatives, all designed to build partnerships to foster industry adoption of transformative technology, commercialize innovative products, continue the development of a highly skilled workforce and foster job creation.

Please join us on Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm in UC # 332 for an information session provided by Amy Hackney, SOSCIP’s Partnerships Officer. Amy will provide an overview of SOSCIPs current platform capabilities and discuss how University of Guelph faculty can access SOSCIP resources to advance their research work. Amy will be available after the presentation to answer questions and consult on project ideas.

If faculty would like to meet with Amy one-on-one, this may be arranged. Please RSVP your attendance to Gregor Lawson (lawsong@uoguelph.ca) and indicate if you would like to arrange for a one-on-one meeting.
