Description
Take advantage of the opportunity to meet Ontario Genomics in advance of an exciting program launch, for the upcoming Ontario Regional Priorities Partnership Program (RP3). This regionally-focused program, delivered in partnership with the Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC), will provide funding for Proof-of Concept (PoC)-stage projects that will deliver genomics-derived solutions for industry-identified challenges within the Ontario agriculture and agri-food sector.
Key parameters of the program are included below:
- Project Size: $375,000 – $500,000 total project budget; smaller projects of at least $150,000 will be considered if they are well-justified and still meet the review criteria
- Co-funding: 1/3 of the total project budget must be obtained from eligible sources including the Industry Lead. A minimum of 1/6 of the total project budget must be in the form of cash obtained from the Industry Lead.
- Project Stage: PoC-stage projects with clear implementation plan;
- Project Term: three-year funded PoC and implementation within two years thereafter

Researchers will learn more about the competition and how to work with partners and Ontario Genomics to position a research project for success from application stage through implementation.
2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. One-on-one consultation sessions

Researchers can book a 20-minute consultation session with Ontario Genomics in advance via Research Innovation Office. We recommend booking your session soon.
Researchers will have an opportunity to meet individually with Elaine Corbett and Kelly Hunter from Ontario Genomics to discuss their potential projects. This early contact will increase your project teams’ chances to prepare eligible and competitive applications for the program, including early identification of collaborators, end users and co-funding sources.
20-minute consultation sessions are available after the information session from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., in University Centre (UC) Room 429.
