Description
Women's Xchange is offering $15,000 in one-time one year (non-renewable) grants to support research projects that address women’s health issues at the local level.
What Project Ideas Are Eligible for Funding?
Potential projects may include:
- Identifying unmet needs within a defined community
- Exploring or testing effective solutions to problems
- Increasing the understanding of factors that influence women’s health

How to Apply
This is a two stage application process:
Step 1: Complete a "Notice of Intent"
All organizations interested in applying to the $15K Challenge need to complete a "Notice of Intent". To do this, one member of your project team sends an e-mail to info@womensxchange.ca containing the following:
- Your full name;
- The name of the community or academic organization you are applying on behalf of;
- The number of applications you intend to submit for the upcoming deadline; and
- The working title of your project/research.
NOI are due January 8, 2018. Researchers can submit the NOI directly to the sponsor, the NOI does not need to be submitted to the Office of Research.
Step 2: Submit a complete application package
Complete applications must be submitted to the Office of Research for review prior to submission to the sponsor. Please submit the complete application form along with a signed OR5 to the Office of Research Services at research.services@uoguelph.ca by Thursday February 1, 2018. Researchers will be responsible for submitting their applications to the sponsor in accordance with the sponsor's submission instructions.
Information For Co-applicants
If you need to meet a deadline set by the lead institution for this opportunity, please ensure that you provide the Office of Research with at least five days in advance of the lead institution’s deadline to review the application, or your proposed component of the project. Please be in touch with the Office of Research (contact information below) ahead of the deadline if it looks like it will be difficult for you to submit all the required documentation on time (i.e. budget, proposal, OR-5 Form).
