The Institute on Governance will be offering a hands-on and practical workshop on science communication for policy, exclusively for faculty, staff and students at the University of Guelph.

Jeff Kinder and Rhonda Moore, two experienced science communicators with extensive expertise in public policy, will:

  • discuss the two cultures of science and policy and how science communication can bridge these cultures
  • identify different ways that academics can inform public policy at the federal level
  • review best practices for delivering scientific information in plain language to a policy audience at the federal level using a principle-based approach
