For More Information
Description
IC-Impacts have announced a new Joint Call for Research with India supported by IC-Impacts and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) India. The call is in the area of Smart and Green buildings in sustainable cities. According to the United Nations Environment program, buildings are responsible for about one-third of total global greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of all energy consumption. Together, the scientific and industrial communities of our two countries seek to devise world leading clean technologies and novel approaches to create more sustainable infrastructure.
Eligibility
Faculty eligible for funding through the Tri-Agency Granting Councils (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR)
Funding Availability
Funding levels not specified in the guidelines; DST provides support to Canadian researchers for travel costs, accommodation in India; IC-IMPACTS provides support for students, technicians, consumables and other costs as required by the project.
Indirect Costs
If there is a contributing industry partner as part of the overall project then the policies of the PI’s university would apply.
Special Notes
Each project application must consist of a Canadian and Indian applicant (Principal investigators), who together have developed a joint project proposal and project budget. It is not a requirement to have industrial partners on any research project, however multi-sector partnerships will be evaluated more favourably.
