Description

The Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC) is opening a new targeted Intake: Deoxynivalenol (DON) Call for Proposals. The purpose of this new Intake is to help address the challenges faced by the Ontario agriculture and agri-food industry a result of the outbreak of the DON toxin in corn.  It is hoped that the resultant solutions will ensure the sustainability and prosperity of Ontario's grain sector.

Eligibility

To be considered eligible, projects must:

Organizations and collaborations representing or supporting the corn sector value chain to help address challenges caused by DON in any project categories are encouraged to apply.

This includes all organizations and collaborations along the value chain such as:

  • elevators
  • feed mills
  • ethanol processors
  • livestock sector

If you wish to apply under the other 17 CAP project categories, please contact the AAC to discuss your project idea.

Funding Availability

This program will be co-funded as follows:

  • up to 50% cost-share funding of total eligible costs to a maximum $500,000 per project*
  • at least 50% applicant identified co-funding

*Requests for funding above 50% and up to 75% must clearly demonstrate how the project addresses the Innovation Rating Criteria and Project Category Priorities

Maximum Project Value

The maximum project value is $1 million

Project Duration

Projects are to finish by December 1, 2020 with final project reporting due no later than January 31, 2021.
