Description
The American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund (PRF) grant programs support fundamental research in the petroleum field, and development of the next generation of engineers and scientists through advanced scientific education. Research areas supported include chemistry, the earth sciences, chemical and petroleum engineering, and related fields such as polymers and materials science.
Research Grants for Doctoral Departments:
New Directions (ND)
The New Directions Grants Program aims to stimulate a new direction of research for established faculty, and to support the careers of their student scientists and engineers. For complete ND details see New Directions (ND) Grants [2].
Amount: $110,000 over two years
Doctoral New Investigator (DNI)
The Doctoral New Investigator grants program aims to promote the careers of young faculty by supporting research of high scientific caliber, and to enhance the career opportunities of their undergraduate/ graduate students, and postdoctoral associates through the research experience. Amount: $110,000 over two years
Eligibility
ND: Faculty from Ph.D. granting colleges and universities. For complete eligibility requirements see ND Eligibility Criteria [4].
DNI: Faculty from Ph.D. granting departments within the first 3 years of their first academic appointment. For complete eligibility requirements see DNI Eligibility Criteria [5].
Funding Availability
For both grants, $110,000 for a two-year period.
Indirect Costs
No overhead costs may be charged.
