Description
This prize recognizes a Canadian Academic whose research has contributed to understanding how factors such as physical activity, nutrition, fitness, or psychosocial context can influence personal health and well-being, and whose work could have a positive impact on our health-related behaviours and lifestyle choices.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold an academic appointment at a Canadian University and be actively conducting research in a campus or hospital setting. Past winners of the Manulife Prize are not eligible to reapply. Of particular note, successful candidates are expected to demonstrate:
- An outstanding and innovative research record evidenced by peer-reviewed scientific publications, patents or products, and academic presentations.
- The translation of research findings and outcomes into initiatives or actions that have had, or have the potential to have, a positive impact on physical activity, nutrition, fitness, or the psychosocial context, that can influence personal health and well-being, and whose work could have a positive impact on health-related behaviours and lifestyle choices
