Dr. Rogers Prize 2025
Description
Dr. Roger Rogers was the co-founder of the Centre for Integrated Healing in Vancouver, now known as InspireHealth, and a graduate of the University of British Columbia where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology, a Bachelor degree in Social Work and a Doctorate of Medicine (UBC, MD 1959). He worked in family practice for over thirty years and was involved in teaching medical students as a UBC clinical instructor.
The Dr. Rogers Prize for Advancing Health, Medicine & Healing, previously known as the Dr. Rogers Prize for Excellence in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, was established in 2007 in recognition of his contribution to the field and his tireless efforts to gain widespread recognition for – and acceptance of – complementary and alternative cancer treatments in this country. The Dr. Rogers Prize aims to celebrate the achievements of exceptional individuals working in novel, innovative, and disruptive medical research and practitioners to advance health, medicine, and healing in Canada.
Eligibility
- The competition is open to individual nominees whose body of work has been carried out within Canada
- The nominee does not need to be a Canadian citizen
- The nominee will be an individual (rather than a group)
- Candidates for the award must be living
- Members and Directors of the Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation are not eligible
- Posthumous awards will not be granted
Prize
The Prize is valued at $300,000 CAD.
