Description
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), on behalf of all Tri-Agencies, is consulting with post-secondary institutions to discuss their views on how to adapt the Athena SWAN initiative [1] for a "made-in-Canada" approach.
On February 11, 2019, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, presented a draft Athena SWAN Charter for Canada [2].
Faculty members and staff are encouraged to participate in the consultation process and submit comments [3] on the draft Charter.
The University will be submitting an institutional response in early April 2019. If you wish to contribute your ideas and comments for the institutional response, please send them by March 27, 2019 to the Office of the Associate Vice-President Research Services at avpr@uoguelph.ca [4].
In addition, NSERC is holding workshops that will be held in Ontario at the following dates and locations (registration [5] is requested):
- Kitchener, ON, 1:00 - 4:00, March 26, 2019 at Wilfrid Laurier University
