Description
Universities Canada is hosting a webinar on ‘Academic research safety in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic’ with officials from the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).
Over the past month, CSIS and the CCCS have been actively engaging with Canadian researchers, and other entities involved in the global effort to combat COVID-19, to sensitize them to concerns related to foreign interference, espionage and cyber threat actors targeting Canadian research interests, intellectual property and innovation.
During this conversation, CSIS and CCCS officials will speak to why Canadian research is of interest to some foreign state actors, the methods that are used to compromise the integrity of that research, and will give us some indications of what to look out for, and how to best protect and secure research IP.
The session is targeted to VPRs, researchers, and research personnel.
Please feel free to share this invitation with your research teams however, space is limited and registration for the session is required. Please confirm your interest in participating by registering with RSVP@univcan.ca.
