Description
The Weston Brain Institute is delighted to launch our Transformational Research: Canada 2018 Program to fund transformative, novel, high-risk, high-reward translational research projects with excellent preliminary data. The goal of the program is to provide funding for translational research that will accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.
Maximum Project Value
A maximum of $1,500,000 over up to three years per project.

External Deadline | Researchers will submit their LOI directly to the sponsor for the deadline on February 15th, 2018 at 2pm EST. The LOI does not need to be submitted to the Office of Research for review. For those researchers invited to full proposal, the complete proposal and OR5 are required to be submitted to the Office of Research for review 5 business days prior to the sponsor's external deadline. Researchers will be responsible for submitting their full proposal directly to the sponsor in accordance with the sponsor submission instructions. |
How to Apply
Application Process
There are two stages to the application process:
- Letters of Intent
- Proposal
An application for the Transformational Research program requires a Letter of Intent, and applicants with high potential projects are invited to submit a Proposal by mid-March 2017. Proposal instructions and feedback from our scientific review committee will be forwarded along with the invitation.
Researchers will submit their LOI directly to the sponsor for the deadline on February 15th, 2018 at 2pm EST. The LOI does not need to be submitted to the Office of Research for review. For those researchers invited to full proposal, the application and OR5 are required to be submitted to the Office of Research for review five business days prior to the sponsor's external deadline. Researchers will be responsible for submitting their proposal directly to the sponsor in accordance with the sponsor submission instructions.
