The Office of Research Services is hosting a group viewing of the CIHR Environments and Health: Intersectoral Prevention Research: Team Grant webinar followed by a discussion group on Thursday September 3, 1:00-3:30 pm (Johnston Hall, Room 104).
The CIHR Environments and Health: Intersectoral Prevention Research: Team Grant opportunity has been identified as a competition in which the U of G might have a strategic advantage based on the nexus areas identified for the competition: agri-food, resource development and urban form. The Office of Research Services invites interested team leaders/applicants, college research managers and associate deans to explore the opportunity and how the U of G might best prepare Letters of Intent in the competition.

Description
This funding opportunity (FO) is one of several planned as part of the Environments and Health Signature Initiative (EHSI). It will build on the strong foundations in etiologic research as well as leverage existing cohorts and data platform enhancements that capture environmental measures and/or health outcomes, including longitudinal cohort studies, community monitoring and surveillance systems in health and other sectors (e.g. transportation, agriculture, urban planning, etc).
Eligibility
A nominated Principle Applicant (independent researcher); one other PA (Independent researcher) must be in a different jurisdiction (e.g. different province/territory, country); At least one knowledge user from either the government, non-governmental or industry sector must be listed as a Principal Applicant and At least two additional knowledge users from the public, private or non-governmental sector from at least 2 different sectors outside of health (e.g. transportation, agriculture) in line with the objectives of the funding opportunity (Link to objectives) must be listed as Co-Applicants – applications must include a minimum of 5 members
Funding Availability
$400,000 per year (full application stage) – will fund approx. 18 development grants (up to $50,000) and 9 grants at full application stage
