Important: The University of Guelph may submit only one application for each competition, either on its own or as the lead organization in a consortium. However, there is no limit on the number of applications an organization may be a part of as a non-lead member of a consortium. Please find below a description of the means by which the University will select the one application to be developed for each competition.
From Farms to Markets in South Sudan [1]
DFATD is launching a call for proposals designed to fund projects in South Sudan that will boost food production and support the market participation of smallholder farmers in order to protect livelihoods. Proposed projects should be located in one or more of the following locations: Eastern Equatoria State, Warrap State, Western Bahr el Ghazal State and/or Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
The total amount of funding available under this call is up to forty million Canadian dollars (CAD $40,000,000).
Based on the availability of funds, DFATD will fund projects valued at between six million dollars (CAD$6,000,000) and eight million dollars (CAD$8,000,000), which will be implemented over a period of up to three years, not including an additional three-month project close-out period.

DFATD is launching a call for proposals to improve maternal and newborn health in underserved areas of Tanzania.
The total amount of funding available for the call is up to seventy-five million Canadian dollars (CAD$75,000,000) to be disbursed over a period of up to five years (Canadian fiscal years 2015-2016 to 2019-2020).
Based on the availability of funds, DFATD will fund projects valued between eight (8) million Canadian dollars (CAD$8,000,000) and twelve (12) million Canadian dollars (CAD$12,000,000) to be implemented over a period of three to five years.

Promoting the Advancement of Women and Girls’ Rights and Empowerment in Afghanistan [16]
DFATD is launching a call for proposals designed to fund projects that contribute to women and girls’ rights and empowerment that are in line with one or more of the following streams:
- Addressing violence against women and girls, and supporting the implementation of the Law on Elimination of Violence against Women;
- Building the capacity of civil society organizations working to advance women and girls’ rights and empowerment.
This call for proposals is valued at up to thirty million Canadian dollars (CAD$30,000,000) over a period of five years, from 2016–2017 to 2020–2021. DFATD intends to contribute funding ranging from a minimum of three million Canadian dollars (CAD$3,000,000) to a maximum of six million Canadian dollars (CAD$6,000,000) to each selected project. Selected projects must be fully completed, including all project reporting requirements, by March 31, 2021.

Eligibility
Only organizations that meet all of the eligibility requirements listed on the application form may be considered an individual applicant or a consortium lead under this call for proposals. Organizations that do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements may form a consortium with another organization that does meet all of the eligibility requirements. However, each member of the consortium will be required to show proof of legal status.
