Description
BioFuelNet Canda (BFN) was first funded by the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) [3] program for the period of April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2017. BFN is submitting its renewal application to the NCE Secretariat for a second cycle of funding on June 30, 2016. The present call for proposals is to identify potential research it to be conducted in the period of 2017-2022. BFN is announcing ten (10) calls for proposals. The focus is in the areas of feedstock (2 projects), conversion technology (4 projects), engines and combustion (1 project) and social, economic and environmental sustainability (3 projects).
Eligibility
Faculty eligible for NSERC or SSHRC. Applicants can only be involved in a maximum of two applications (can be included in multiple applications as unfunded collaborators). There is no requirement for the applicant to have already participated in BFN.

Special Notes
Applicants whose proposals best meet the criteria will have a description of their proposed work included in the BFN’s strategic plan for 2017-22, which will be submitted to the NCE as part of BFN’s renewal application. Inclusion in the BFN’s strategic plan does not constitute a guarantee of funding, even if BFN’s application is successful.
