Description
The objective is to support collaborative research projects between Indian and Canadian institutions entailing scholars’ mobility as well as capacity building of scholars/researchers between India and Canada. The research theme will build on issues concerning social sciences as well as science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Eligibility
Faculty members from Canadian or Indian institutions are eligible. Either applicant from India or Canada can be the lead, but can submit only one application. In addition to the two main applicants, SPG should include students/young researchers (at least 1 from India and 1 from Canada) in the research team to work on the projects.
Funding Availability
Up to $6,000 per project. Additional contributions from applicants’ institution are encouraged. One institution can receive only one SRG award and the recipient of the award is subject to the institution being a SICI member in good standing with full paid-up membership for the current year (2016-17). Preference will be given to member institutions who have not received any SICI grants in the past 2 years (2014-15 and 2015-16).

Project Duration
Funds must be fully utilized between Nov. 15, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
