Dr. Paul Hebert, Canada Research Chair and director of the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics, received the 2024 Benjamin Franklin Medal for Earth and Environmental Science. He was recognized for developing DNA barcoding, a global species identification method. Hebert is only the fourth Canadian to earn this prestigious award from The Franklin Institute.
