U of G Researcher Paul Hebert Receives Benjamin Franklin Medal

Dr. Paul Hebert [1], Canada Research Chair and director of the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics [2], received the 2024 Benjamin Franklin Medal for Earth and Environmental Science [3]. He was recognized for developing DNA barcoding, a global species identification method. Hebert is only the fourth Canadian to earn this prestigious award from The Franklin Institute [4].
