Learning in Budapest
As the Research Shop at the Community Engaged Scholarship approaches it’s 10th anniversary, we have begun to explore ways to document its impact and create tools to measure the ongoing evaluation of projects. This picture was taken while attending the 8th Living Knowledge Network Conference in Budapest – a gathering of those working in community engaged scholarship, with many working within Science Shops (what the Research Shop was born out of). I attended this conference to gather research on how other science shops throughout the world have documented their impacts and evaluated their programs. The research I collected is currently being used to inform the current research on the impacts of the Research Shop, as well as the development of an evaluation toolkit for Research Shop projects. In addition, a partnership was created with other Science Shops (in Ireland, Belgium and Hungary) celebrating birthdays to come together to do research and knowledge mobilization activities over the next year.
