Transilluminator
In Dr. Wootton’s lab, there are ample amounts of cloning. In this photo, you can see a gel that is being analyzed on a transilluminator. Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) had certain genes cloned into them using restriction enzymes. The samples were put through a few other steps, such as transforming, isolating and digesting, to finally run on a gel to ensure that the gene of interest was successfully integrated into the mAb, and Voila! Here you can see if the DNA was cloned correctly!
