Gain the technical skills needed to become a veterinary technician with hands-on training in caring for companion, food, and sport animals. At Ridgetown Campus, you'll benefit from a comprehensive program and a six-week industry placement, preparing you for a growing career in animal care and wellness. Graduates leave with the knowledge and experience to pursue certification through the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). 

 2 delivery options

This program is offered in a 2 and 3 year option. Both delivery methods cover the same course content and other practical training, but they vary in length and how the program is delivered.  Companion and Large Animal Experience

Gain hands-on experience with our on-campus companion animal colonies including dogs, cats, rats, mice and birds to practice essential clinical skills. Work with five large animal species on-campus - dairy, beef, sheep, swine and equine, giving you a well-rounded veterinary technician skill set.

  6-week industry placement

Complete a 6-week industry work placement after your final semester, gaining practical experience, making industry connections to establish your career as Veterinary Technician.
