Landscape Architecture students displayed their cartographic projects at the European Cultural Centre, part of the Architectural Biennale from May 22 to November 21, 2021 in Venice Italy. Dr. Nadia Amoroso supervised this creative scholarship project. She recently visited this exhibition located at the historical Venetian palace, Palazzo Mora, where she discussed the meaning behind the project, entitled ‘Cartographic Expressions’. This international exhibition had 212 exhibitors of which 48 were from universities. This project proudly represented the University of Guelph and Canada. The works included aerial photos from Dr. Nathan Perkins and the BLA and MLA students involved included, Amanda Passero, Justin Luth, Jenna Livingston, Matthew Canaran, Sonia Jin, Alyson Kennedy, Jenna Stusek, Steven Shuttle, Xuejin Zhuge, Victoria Coffen-Smout, Jenny Andrews and Emily Bowerman.

This six-month ‘Time Space Existence [1]’ exhibition reached over 420,000 users on social media, nearly150,700 viewers online, and over 300,000 in-person visitors, putting the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development on the international stage. This project was supported by the OAC Learning Trust, SSHRC Grant and Prof. Sean Kelly, Director of SEDRD.
