This publication emerged as part of a lecture series facilitated by the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health [2]. Gateway conducts impactful research, develops educational resources, and engages rural communities to ensure continuous improvement in rural health and well-being. The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development has been active partners with Gateway, recently re-signing a new five year Memorandum of Understanding [3].
