Prof. Al Lauzon has been named the interim director of the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) effective November 1, 2015.
Lauzon will assume interim director duties as Prof. Wayne Caldwell serves as interim dean of the Ontario Agricultural College [1](OAC).
"During this period of significant transition in both SEDRD and OAC, I'm thrilled that Professor Lauzon has agreed to take on this important leadership role," says Rob Gordon, dean of the Ontario Agricultural College.
"I have greatly admired his commitment to excellence and passion for our institution and, in particular, SEDRD."
Lauzon joined the University of Guelph and SEDRD in 1989. Lauzon both teaches in and acts as the coordinator of the Capacity Development and Extension MSc and Rural Studies PhD programs. His research focuses on the foundations and processes of capacity development and extension, with a particular focus on rural and remote communities and regions.
