Other Course Description or Assignment Information: 
This course is intended for B.Comm. students in semester one. It provides students with an understanding of the evolution of forms of business organization and their role in social and economic development. The main focus is on current economic, social and environmental issues that impact business organizations and which, in turn, are impacted by business decisions. Ethical considerations and the concept of sustainability are essential components. Students develop oral and written communication skills in small seminar groups.

Required Qualifications
Degree: 
PhD in progress related to field
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Minimum PhD candidate or PhD with emphasis in management knowledge, accounting, innovation or strategy, Ethics and or Sustainability business. Bachelor of Commerce or Masters in Management. Has participated on panel at the Great Ethical Dilemma Case competition and has been a previous UTA for Management 1000.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree: 
PhD in progress in course content
Prior Teaching Experience: 
Successful teaching related to field at college or university level.
Research Experience: 
Quality and or Recent Research activity in related field demonstrating knowledge of current developments in course content.
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Successful completion of MGMT*1000 and has extensive working knowledge of the course from experience as a TA. Has conducted research on ethical decision making and preparing ethical dilemmas for case competition. Well developed interpersonal skills and ability to network with top executives.
