Other Duties Described: 
Includes responsibilities and duties that will ensure the student: (1) becomes knowledgeable and competent with regard to the technical design process related to stadia surveying, landform manipulation, earthwork, drainage conveyance and basic subgrade drainage infrastructure; (2) demonstrates proficiency in the execution of site grading drawings including spot elevation and contour information; (3) communicates an understanding of the interrelationships and direct associations between design and construction including ‘cut and fill’ calculations and associated budget estimating; (4) develops introductory and basic manual and computer-assisted drafting skills for the purpose of communicating site grading proposals.

Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
The successful candidate must demonstrate the competence, capability, skill, and ability to teach the following: (1) Basic knowledge and skills related to principles of site grading and technical design as applicable to site engineering for Landscape Architecture (e.g., green infrastructure/ SWM utility design standards, accessibility/barrier-free standards, and the latest editions of the Canadian Landscape Standard, Ontario Building Code, AODA, etc.); (2) Production of ‘site engineering’ documents (plan drawings, section/elevation drawings, specifications and budgets for preparing existing condition and grading direction drawings); (3) Techniques and conventions related to ‘best practices’ in standard technical drawing set-up.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
MLA or a BLA with a related Masters degree preferred. Membership with OALA or other component association of the CSLA an asset.
