Students continue their practicum at the same site they were placed for Field Practicum V. This allows for an in-depth experience independently planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum for children and/or their families in collaboration with other professionals. Students use the knowledge gained in the previous semester to refine their reflective practice skills in a weekly integrative seminar and through the development of an e-Portfolio Students will gain practical experience in the role of Early Childhood Professional, further developing their knowledge and skills in leadership, research, communication, programming, advocacy, teamwork, social justice and reflective practice. -To view course outlines from previous offerings of this course (if available), please visit: https://www.guelphhumber.ca/academic-services/course-outlines HEALTHY CAMPUS: The University of Guelph and the University of Guelph-Humber promote a healthy campus. Other Duties Described: 
Instructor may be required to participate in course website training. This is a full appointment consisting of: Weekly instruction: • Conduct seminar class, adhering to the respective course outline; • Facilitate students’ completion of evaluation strategies; • Review and grade student submissions of the evaluation components as indicated in respective course outlines; • Meet with students during office hours on a scheduled or impromptu basis; • Calculate and submit final grades. Supervision of Students in Field Placement • Ensure all agencies are contacted within the first two weeks of placement in September and January to schedule on-site visits; • Conduct one on-site visit at agencies for all students during both terms which includes meeting with both the students and agency field supervisors. Additional meetings may be required for students who are not meeting the field practicum expectations; • Work with students and agency field supervisors around issues of concern to develop strategies addressing concerns; • Liaise in an on-going manner with agencies by email and phone; and • Complete 15-minute de-briefing meetings with all students in December and April (as applicable).

Successful teaching related to field at college or university level
Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Previous experience teaching in ECS at the University of Guelph-Humber. Significant experience working with children and/or families in the field of Early Childhood Education or related field of Early Intervention and Prevention.

Doctorate in the field of ECS and/or related to children OR professional designation (other than RECE)
Specific Preferred competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
Candidates should provide in their application evidence of prior teaching experience and teaching success/excellence related to course content, which may include a dossier, teaching philosophy, examples of teaching innovations, course developments, evaluations of previously taught courses (e.g., peer evaluations and/or student feedback), reference letters, and any other relevant information they wish to have evaluated by the selection committee (some documents on file in the department or program, such as UofGH Student Feedback Questionnaires of courses taught on UofG contracts, may also be used). Registered as an Early Childhood Educator. Experience teaching/supervising field practicum courses in an Early Childhood program, including evidence of teaching responsive/conversational seminars. Experience working in a variety of settings with children and families is an asset. Evidence of fostering a supportive learning environment/community, such as responsiveness, engagement and adaptability, including creating a safe space for students to voice their questions/concerns.
