The number of assignments posted is a low estimate for the actual number needed. This is a foundational course for students in B.Sc. Physical Sciences Majors. The course covers translational and rotational mechanics (kinematics, forces, energy, momentum), and simple harmonic motion, as well as associated foundational topics, including unit conversion and dimensional analysis. Weekly small-group meetings will include both tutorial and laboratory activities. TAs will be expected to run problem-solving sessions and administer quizzes. Laboratories will have students at times working in small groups; at other times activities will be run in a “studio lab” format (with TAs responsible for demonstrating and coordinating group measurements). Labs will focus on developing measurement skills and working with uncertainties). **For some labs, TAs will be expected to attend multiple lab periods.
