Required Qualifications:
Applicants must:
(a) be enrolled in a full-time Chemistry graduate program in an area of synthetic chemistry,
(b) have completed a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry,
(c) have experience teaching in Chemistry laboratories,
(d) be able to demonstrate experience in Gas Chromatography, handling Hazardous Materials, and safety awareness of all potential chemical hazards,
(e) be able to demonstrate an ability to create and maintain a safe work place,
(f) be able to demonstrate previous exemplary teaching performance,
(g) be able to provide documentation indicating they have completed the following training programs: Lab Safety Training (EHS), WHMIS Training (EHS), Worker Health & Safety Awareness (EHS), Accessible Service Provision (CourseLink) and Making Education Accessible (CourseLink). Must complete additional safety training as required.
Selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with Article 11.04 of the CUPE 3913-1 collective agreement. Assignments to particular courses will be made in accordance with departmental needs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
(a) Ph.D. Candidate in any area of Synthetic Chemistry,
(b) Experience as a TA in CHEM*2700
