Watson Hall
Watson Hall is a residence hall located in the north end of campus, behind Lambton Hall and next to Lennox-Addington Hall. It is the home of International House, a cross cultural living-learning centre experience provided by Student Housing Services.
WBC
Wildlife Biology and Conservation is a Specialization offered at the undergraduate level. Refer to the Specializations and Their Degrees chart at the start of Section X--Degree Programs in the current Undergraduate Calendar for more information.
WebAdvisor
An on-line academic organisational tool that accesses student information housed in the Colleague database (the student information management system). It is available on-line to both faculty and students at https://webadvisor.uoguelph.ca/.
WEBCT (web-ct)
A software program which assists with course administration, acts as a grades book tool, and allows for the set-up of course functions such as on-line quizzes and conferencing. Has largely been replaced with Courselink.
WEBmail
WEBmail was the former name of the web browser based email client at the University of Guelph. The current name is GryphMail.
WEC
The Wellness Education Centre is located in the J.T. Powell Building, the Wellness Education Centre provides information about various issues that affect students daily in order to create awareness of them. Peer Helpers and volunteers assist drop-ins, provide workshops in residence, and set up displays. WEC can be reached by email at asksc@uoguelph.ca or by phone at 519-824-4120 extension 53327.
Wellness Centre
The Wellness Centre was renamed to the Wellness Education Centre (WEC) effective May 1, 2014.
WETT (wet)
Coordinated by the Wellness Education Centre, the Wellness Education Training Troupe is a group of student volunteers who are dedicated to educating other students on a variety of social and wellness issues.
Windows
Windows Cafe is a bistro-type food service outlet located in Mountain Hall, on the north side of South Ring Road, within the South Residence complex. Windows was formerly called Mountain Dining Hall.
Winegard Walk (wine-guard)
The name of a red brick walkway that runs through the centre of campus and extends from South Ring Road at the south end of campus to College Avenue at the north end of campus. It is named after former President William “Bill” Winegard who served as the University's second president and vice-chancellor from 1967 to 1975.
WinMarks (win-marks)
A grades book tool developed at the University of Guelph.
WMEM
War Memorial Hall is located on the corner of College Avenue and Gordon Street. It opened in 1924 as a memorial to the college men who died in World War I. It includes a Memorial Chapel that houses bronze tablets that bear the names of the College men who passed away in the first and second world wars.
WRC (w-r-c)
Women's Resource Centre provides resources to the university and broader communities on women's issues.
WRE
