Giba Barrie – Engagement and Knowledge Mobilization Specialist (Canadian Water Network) 

Giba is the engagement and knowledge mobilization (EKM) specialist for the Wastewater-Based Surveillance (WBS) Program at the Canadian Water Network. In partnership with the National Centre for Collaboration on Infectious Diseases (NCCID), she helps health authorities interpret the meaning of wastewater-based surveillance data for their communities and communicate these results to decision-makers and the public. 

Giba holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Calgary, and a Master of Public Health from Western University. Previously, Giba worked at York Region as a policy, research, and initiatives advisor who contributed to strategic planning and policy-related documents. At the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), Giba joined the Science in French team as a research analyst and supported PHAC’s mandate of increasing the amount of science-related content produced in French across the agency. 

Cameron Ogilvie – Soil Health Educator (Soil Health Institute) 

Cameron Ogilvie is a Soil Health Educator with the Soil Health Institute – a global non-profit with a mission to safeguard and enhance the vitality and productivity of soils through scientific research and advancement. Cameron develops and leads soil health education and coaching programs for farmers, agronomists, and food companies looking to implement profitable and regenerative cropping systems. Cameron represents SHI on the Board of Directors for the Potato Sustainability Alliance. He has an MSc in Cropping Systems & Agronomy from the University of Guelph where he studied the on-farm impacts of cover crops on water and nutrient cycling. 

Jaime Brown – National Director, Knowledge to Action, March of Dimes Canada 

Dr. Jaime Brown is an experienced leader, consultant, and educator with expertise in research, evaluation, knowledge mobilization, strategy, and systems planning. Jaime holds a Ph.D. in Applied Social Psychology from the University of Guelph. For two decades, she has worked with leaders and service providers, researchers, community organizations, and across municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government. Much of her work has been focused on health, mental health, and addictions services, child and youth development, disability services and supports, collective impact, and cross-sectoral community interventions. Jaime brings her passion for community engagement and evidence-based decision making to all she does, and is known for being pragmatic, collaborative, user-focused, and ever mindful of theories of change and intended impact. Currently, Jaime works as the National Director, Knowledge to Action at March of Dimes Canada, and as an independent consultant leading community-based research, strategy, evaluation, and knowledge mobilization initiatives with non-profit and public benefit organizations across Canada. Off the clock, Jaime is a runner, musician, pizza aficionado, and co-parent to her sweet pup, Mitch.
