Research Summary: This project aims to establish value chain from bioresources of Ontario as direct import substitutes for activated carbon for the domestic industrial sector. Previous research has established the technology to produce biocarbon and activated carbon using local organic material from the agri-food sector, such as biomass crops. Results could lead to sustainable economic and environmental benefits to the Ontario agri-food sector.
